Actually, the earthquake was in December, 2002. Those sure are big braces they are using! I hope this building can be saved, it is such a classic.

My mother learned to read there in the 1930s. I saw it once, in 1974 or so, she took me and my sister inside to see it, the library was closing but the librarian let us in. The dog stories were shelved where they had been in the thirties.
