Sad to See It Go

Almost made it to 100 years. Can you imagine? Almost nothing on this coast is that old.

I think the people who bought the property are working with "Buy Fresh, Buy Local" to let local farmers sell their local produce here all week instead of just at Saturday's Farmer's Market. I read that the Chameleon store on Nelson is moving here too. Rather see this building stay and the new Village Center go.

A real shame. And what will come in it's place, a 7/11?

Wow... That store provided food for a horse, multiple cats, at least two dogs, and three rabbits of mine over the years. Also got brushes, supplies, tools, and even clothing there. Vaccination clinics in the parking lot were always, um, fun. I loved the smell of the alfalfa hay, oats, and other feed that they kept there. I remember stopping in there on afternoons when I walked from Paulding into the Village. It is one of the things that made me feel that Arroyo Grande was such a special part of my childhood. How sad to learn it's gone. Thanks for the picture and the memories. So what did happen to the building and lot?

Oh, the building is still there...I think they turned it into some kind of decorating store...
