I have a story about this prison..My dad grew up in a house right around the corner & they had a brick porch and in the summer my grandmother would sit out there because the heat was no bad. It was on Harrison St. Anyway...one day when my Dad was little maybe in the mid 30's a man with stripes on was running up the street and slowed down to wish my grandmother a nice day..he had just climbed the wall & escaped from the jail. She said "same to you" and then he began to run again... That is a true story.
