I would start to cry as soon as my dad bought the car wash ticket and bawl the whole way through until long after we exited. I hated it too. It absolutely terrified me.

Hmmm...I'm curious, what exactly is it about the car wash that is so terrifying? I'm trying to understand so maybe I can make it less scary for her...

It's like being in a thunderstorm. It's loud, there's fierce water pounding on the windows from all sides and when the rolling thing starts smacking the hood and then moves over the windshield - freaky. And the side ones rolling past the doors...it always felt so violent.

I see your point. It's interesting, because all that action is precisely what I found so thrilling about it when I was a kid (though still a little scary). Darcy used to cry, but now she's ok so long as she has her precious sweater to help her cope. Saige doesn't seem bothered by it.

My boys love the car wash! They ask to go every time they see a speck of dirt on the cars.

We just the carwash today and for the first time my 9 yr old son didn't cover his ears. They grow up so fast. ;-)
