Bad Blogger

Oh, what a bad blogger I have been.

The latest, in brief:

Bundit has a girlfriend. The bonding process is not yet complete though, as you can see below:

Fur fight

Still, the bathtub sessions* have been promising, and after that is finished, things should look more like this:

Aren’t they cute? Yes, “Inky” is a much bigger breed…about the size of a large cat.

The garden is doing great and we are almost at capacity in terms of available plots. Everybody is interested in gardening all of a sudden and I’m not sure why. Anyway, it’s been pretty good for the garden as the newcomers have created a compost pile and helped me with a few things. My plots really only look good because it’s been there a while–I can see that the other people seem to actually know what they are doing and their plots are going to outshine mine soon. Which is okay; it’s not a competition. (Ok, maybe just a little).

The girls are starting kindergarten at the end of August, and boy, are they are looking forward to it. I think mama might be too.

Speaking of them, they are getting to be quite the wonderful little ladies. This year has been by far the most enjoyable year with them yet. And I’m not just saying that because they have finally been trained to let me sleep in.

My techie business has picked up quite a bit lately. The guy I wrote about here has been giving me work here and there, and that’s been really nice because lately that’s been the only reason the girls’ preschool has gotten paid for. This month will probably be the same. I’ve also done a lot of eBay selling…it’s not something I really like, but there is decent cash in selling off broken computer crap, especially if it is Mac stuff. Most of it is crap that has been literally thrown away. I go collect it and lo and behold, people pay me over $100 for a broken Mac laptop that looks like it’s been run over by a Hummer. So that has been my other source of income: selling compu-trash. Why not? It’s the ultimate form of recycling.

I was feeling artsy the other day and the result is up on Flickr, the Soda Lake Sessions. My mom kindly trudged out with me and the girls to the Carrizo Plains for four stinkin’ hours and indulged me in some colossal silliness. Pretty much all the props and clothes I used were thrifted or collected from eBay. Also? I worked my ass off at the gym to drop 10 pounds for that red dress (well, maybe not “off,” you can see the ass is definitely still there). Anyway she took almost 4GB of photos, and some of the ones from her infared camera were really spooky. The girls had fun too–they didn’t even bother us once–because they thought they were on the moon.

I guess that’s another reason I’ve been AWOL…I’ve been trying to improve the photo skillz a little bit.

Lastly, I am starting to slack on my duties over at the book site. I knew this would happen eventually. If any Daily Show-Colbert nuts want to help, please let me know. I really want to keep it going, but it’s a lot of work by yourself.

That is all for now…don’t forget to download the brand-spankin’ new Firefox 3 when it comes out on Tuesday!
