Home Again Home Again

mail.jpgWe are back and thoroughly exhausted. It will probably take days to get fully unpacked and quite a while to go through the something like 3GB of photos I took on the trip. As for how long it will take my brain to snap back into focus after two straight weeks of nightly sleeping pills, I don’t know. Sleep = good, short-term memory = not so good.

Bruce’s reunion was great, by the way. I thought I was probably going to be bored and ignored, but no, it was a great time. I still have one of the songs from the event stuck in my head…Harry Belafonte’s Jump in the Line (sample at Amazon, #9). Aaaaugh.

By the way, somebody I know made it through Newark airport with a swiss army knife, isn’t that interesting? It was an accident, but it basically confirmed what I already suspected about the state of this country’s travel security and all the “Homeland Security” BS.

That somebody is dropping students from his classes at the moment. It’s very liberating thing, this act of dropping the dead weights from a class. He just dropped a guy with the following email address: “yousuckyoujackass@****.com.” He gets a lot of students with interesting email addresses like this, with no apparent sense of class and since the guy stopped showing up now he really–ha ha ha!–has no class.

We are in the middle of a rare thunderstorm…the lights are flickering, so that’s all for now. A summary of the trip will be forthcoming!
