The following is a guest post by the husband about the third WTC building that everybody seems to have forgotten about. I’m not really a conspiracy theorist myself, but I must say there’s a lot of mighty suspicious questions about 9/11 that have been left unanswered.

Why DID Building #7 Collapse?

Note how quickly and neatly WTC comes down. Kind of strange, no?

Quiz: How many buildings fell down at the NY World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001? If your answer is two, that shows how thoroughly knowledge of the third building has been either suppressed or overlooked. WTC #7 was the third building to come down and was no motel; it was a steel-framed and specially reinforced 47-story building containing–among other interesting offices–the fortified bunker for Mayor Giuliani and the NYC Office of Emergency Management. It also housed a clandestine CIA field office, FBI offices, the Secret Service’s largest field office, and Securities and Exchange Commission offices containing thousands of documents relating to corporate malfeasance and companies under indictment (all lost on 9/11).

Just before the collapse of #7 in the late afternoon of 9/11, news footage shows only two small office fires burning in this big building. Curiously, firefighters were then warned away moments before the building neatly fell into its own footprint, characteristic of professional demolition. This makes #7 the first steel-framed building in the recorded history of our planet to collapse from fire of any magnitude. Please note this building was NOT hit by a plane. (The only other steel-framed buildings ever to collapse from fire are WTC towers 1 & 2).

In the 2002 PBS documentary America Rebuilds, Larry Silverstein, owner of the WTC complex, admitted that he and the NYC fire department decided to “pull” #7 on the day of the attack. “Pull” is industry jargon for taking down a building with explosives. PROBLEM: at a minimum, it would take several days to set charges, a task that more typically takes a month of careful engineering. And who can believe any such effort would have been carried out, particularly unnoticed, during the chaotic events of 9/11, right at the disaster site?

So we reach the inescapable conclusion that hmmmm, perhaps SOMEONE knew the attacks were coming. Silverstein himself profited handily from insurance specifically covering terrorism which he took out a couple of months before the attacks. Why take down a perfectly good 47-story skyscraper? Well, if the 9/11 attacks were in fact engineered domestically, by elements within our own government, then they would need to be precisely coordinated from somewhere, and where better than right on-site, from intelligence offices already set up? But then one must destroy all evidence of such an intelligence operation. How better than to bring down the entire “attack headquarters” building, then speedily remove all the debris?

Sound too crazy? How about quiz question #2: What is PNAC (Project for a New American Century?) Don’t know? That’s the planning document signed in the early 1990s by most of the major players in the current Bush administration which calls for invading Iraq to assure “access to vital raw material, primarily Persian Gulf oil.” The document goes on to lament that the American people are unlikely to support a preemptive war “absent some catastrophic event—like a new Pearl Harbor.” How convenient for these neocon planners that a mere eight months after Bush’s inauguration the 9/11 attacks take place!

Still not persuaded something fishy’s going on? Try answering these questions:

How could cell phone calls have been recorded from Flight 93 (which reportedly went down in rural Pennsylvania) when the technology for making cell calls from cruising altitudes was not even tested until 2004?

Why does none of the news footage of the Pentagon, allegedly hit by a passenger jet, show any damage or debris other than a 16-foot-diameter hole, coincidentally the precise damage that would result from a hit by a Cruise missile? And why haven’t we heard from any of the bereaved family members of victims on this flight?

Why did the U.S. Attorney General take to flying only specially chartered jets just prior to the attacks?

Why did Condoleeza Rice phone San Francisco mayor Willie Brown the day before the attacks to personally warn him not to fly the next day?

Why did the U. S. military knowingly let Bin Laden and other Taliban leaders escape to Pakistan while 800 special forces troops sat idly by?

Why is Bin Laden NOT listed as wanted for the 9/11 attacks on the FBI’s own web site? (The FBI has stated that they have no direct evidence that he was involved in the attacks).

And lastly, why did our military defenses, the best and most expensive in the world, fail to stop any of the four allegedly hijacked planes when there was a two-hour lapse between the first and last planes going down?

Even if you believe official explanations for 9/11, this last question should give you pause. There is a lot of intriguing information out there; like this and this.

History gives us the instructive example of Hitler setting fire to the Reichstag in Berlin and blaming it on the Jews. His deputy, Hermann Goering, noted that it is easy to get people to go along with preemptive war. “All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the peacemakers for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
