Before and After

I applied for a job as a digital photo retoucher/processor yesterday. No mention of pay was made, but at this point I’ve really got nowhere to go but up.

These are some photos I took yesterday. I almost never upload any photos to Flickr without adjusting them first, and here you can see why:

They kind of suck without Photoshop.

I hope the dude calls. I love Photoshop, but I’d love a DSLR more.

Wow! Your photos are gorgeous and what a difference.

Will you teach me to do that? Pretty please?

Do you have Photoshop? If you do, it’s really not that hard. Mostly it’s just a matter of fixing the levels, the curves, and then selective sharpening. If I find any really good tutorials I’ll post it here, but in the meantime this didn’t look half bad: http://www.photoshopsupport.com

I splurged and got a DSLR a while ago (Canon 10D), and I *still* do a lot of photoshop work, I don’t think that ever goes away despite how nice the digital camera. The pros on photo.net say that’s nothing to be ashamed of, great looking prints don’t come directly from film, either, there’s a lot of messing around going on in the darkroom…
