I’m a Joiner
Seeing this article in the LA Times today finally kicked my ass into accepting that invite from La La I’d had sitting in my mailbox for weeks. (Note: if the link goes to the usual “you need to register” bullshit, try BugMeNot. BugMeNot is your friend!). La La is pretty cool, and easier to use than I imagined. I guess all that prep work for a year really paid off. And the guy named the site after a noise his daughter made. How cute is that?
Right now I’m only offering up a couple of cds, and hoping for some from the Trance Planet series (which is actually world music, not electronica). They’re out of production; I’m not holding my breath.
Anyway, from the article:
And although the website asks members to remove songs from their computers after mailing the CD to someone else, there’s nothing to prevent a Lala.com user from receiving a CD, copying it, and then trading the original again.
For some reason that, uh, creative possibility hadn’t occurred to me before I read that. Hmmmm.
