It’s The Little Victories

Our breakthrough last week is bearing (stinky) fruit: Darcy is now a potty champ. Not a single accident yesterday, and now the potty is a friend instead of foe. It has even become her lofty goal to top her sister; Miss D did #2 on the potty without ANY help or suggestion from me whatsoever. (Dare I say it?) Holy crap! Mama was impressed.

Now I know how boring posts about kid body functions are to people that don’t have kids, and even those with kids. But listen–words cannot describe how thrilled I am coming THIS CLOSE to the finish line. THIS CLOSE to being done with the tree-killing diapers forever. THIS CLOSE to having our bathroom counters back. Over three solid years of diaper-changing two kids, 24/7…I am almost finished. FOREVER. Wheeeee!

As for all that extra money that used to go to diapers, hell, now I could start a coke habit.

If you’re still awake I uploaded some photos of Parkfield–a place just over the county line and “Earthquake Capital of the World.”

You go, girl!! We are only a few months over that finish line ourselves and it is a sweet victory. Note to self: you may never venture far from a public restroom again. I recently made a mad dash through Costco with a full cart (”Watch out, old man!”) when my son uttered, “Mommy, I have to go pee.” Gotta love it!

I don’t know how you can change a diaper in the first place. I actually kinda freak out when I think about having kids and having to do that, I’m not prissy or anything but just scooping the catbox makes me gag!

Yay!

May your days continue to be accident-free.
