Moving Forward
Hallelujah! I think the pills are finally working. The last three days I have been able to drink…are you ready? DECAF TEA! Yeah! My mom (who also has IC) never touches decaf anything, and I used to wonder how it could be possible that her bladder would even notice. Ha ha–karma, baby. But THANK YOU GOD, thank you for at least letting me have decaf again. It’s better than nothing. I am very grateful. (No, I still won’t go to church).
You might’ve noticed I haven’t talked about the girls in the last few posts, and that’s partly because one twin has decided to join Tantrum Nation, and by the end of the day I feel like this and I’m thinking about orphanages. Saige in particular has been throwing the kind of tantrums you’re amazed doesn’t make the kid’s head explode. Could be the lingering effects of six straight weeks of being sick, but I suspect hypoglycemia. Because the minute she eats some food the insanity stops, or at least calms down considerably. The other twin, like her father, of course has no such issues with blood sugar or sleep or anything else.* She is pretty mellow for the most part. Unfortunately, she has also been taking advantage of this by picking on her more sensitive sister whenever possible, adding to the chaos.
For now we’re taking a little family vacation to Santa Cruz for a few days—hopefully the change in routine will do us good and it won’t rain.
Oh, and Cherish took a lovely photo of us for her black and white film photography class, and a couple of others documenting Saige’s struggle with that ear infection (I love this photo of Saige glowering in particular). Here’s one I took of the girls with Bruce, or as my sister says, “aww…three girls with windswept hair.”
* I have a whole post in my head about how Saige is my clone and Darcy is my husband’s…maybe someday it will come out.

wow angela, you and your girls look beautiful.
