Angela:

As you are aware, I have been reading your blog, like you I too have been having bladder Issues. On the 19th, I went in to see a uroligist, he found bladder stones, and some inflamation, that he wanted to bioposy. I immediately contacted an herbilist, that is here locally in the Santa Cruz area. He placed me on a regimin, which I followed rigously. Last Thursday, I went back to the urologist, I told him what I was doing, and that my symptoms have been improving, and that I would like for him to do another bladder exam. His response was, " This is not going to work". He immediately cancelled the surgery, and gave me a list of other urologists to see, one of whom is open to alternative medicine. Tommrow, I will be seeing my regular doctor, for refferal to this other urologist. My point is this. Western medicine is good for broken bones, and other physcal injuries, but is not that good for other ailments such as what you are currently experiencing. You need to consider other alternatives. Finally, I wish to point out that not only are the pharmicitucals very costly, they also can have harmful side effects, which is why, I am currently using natural herbal supplements for my ailments. They are far less expensive, and certainly less harmful than the pharmicituals. I could go on further with my own experiences, but ont thing that was pointed out to me, is that you have to think outside the box. This goes for everything you do in life.

Jeez-Louise, you are getting rocked. I'm so sorry your innards are in such disarray. I'm glad you're sleeping finally, though. That's a pretty necessary thing.

Remember a few years ago when The Husband had his renal breakdown, and we went to doctors and doctors and doctors, all of whom claimed it was a weird food allergy?

I eventually had a Google hit on a research paper linking his symptoms to vegetarianism and a family medical history of kidney disease, and changed him over to a paleo-style diet, which cleared everything up immediately.

The non-meat version is raw vegetarianism, which also avoids beans, etc., taking its protein through other sources. A friend went this route to treat her food allergies with tremendous success -- I'll look for the e-mail with the name of the book/nutritionist she used to get started.
