If You Build It They Will Come

Dust Much? And they will keep coming, even though you’ve told everybody you’re closed. So much for “suspending” the business…people are still calling and I’m refurbishing a couple of dinosaurs for some of Bruce’s retired friends. As they loaded them into our car they asked what could possibly be done with them. I told them I would hotrod them as much as I could, but given the their ages (Pentium 333 and a 667), they were basically like DeSotos.

They were impressed that a thirty year-old knew what a DeSoto was. I’m pretty sure if I weren’t married to a guy so much older than I, I’d probably think it was a laxative. Or a record label. Oh wait, it is a record label.

Regarding the much-hyped Google calendar: this is something I’ve wanted for a long time, as relying on our memories has become a complete joke since we had the twins. Bruce and I really need to be able to share schedules, as we can barely remember our own let alone each other’s. And it could really help us with our long-term planning! For instance, we could pencil in “have sex” somewhere in 2007. Anyway, it should be interesting to see what Google comes up with. In the meantime, I discovered Sunbird, a cousin to Thunderbird and Firefox. (Cute logo!).

Those fed up with Blogger, Blogspot, Livejournal or trying to install Wordpress should check out the new Wordpress thing. Runs Wordpress (obviously), but no setup hassles or server configs. (Note it’s wordpress.com, not wordpress.org).

I am still not over the fact that a twin broke my beloved Google pen from Blogher. I know it’s just a piece of cheap plastic crap, but I want another one…cause ya know, it DID spread peace and joy wherever it appeared.

I wish I had some extra Google pens for you, but I only have one lonely pen myself! It just means you have to come next year and get another one…and there *will be* a next year…stay tuned!

To get rid of your desktop icons, why don’t you just store them in the little icon area near the start menu? Just drag them in and POOF, no more desktop clutter.
