I knew there would be flakes, and that’s why I posted my ad for the computers for a couple of weeks. But it’s really getting old, this routine of “Ok, I’ve got your address, see you at 3:30″ and then no one ever shows up. Or “I’ll call you back to arrange a meeting, I really want to see the computer bad!” and never getting that call. Why do these morons keep doing this?

I am getting the distinct feeling that my gender is NOT an advantage here. Feeling #1 is that anything built by a girl must suck, I can’t possibly know what I’m doing. Feeling #2 is that they think I’m just a bored housewife with nothing better to do than sit around and wait for these assholes to show up (and they don’t). After all, I’m just sitting around watching Oprah and eating bon-bons, right?

It’s kind of stressing me out, because these flaking jerks are why I have to keep listening to a dying hard drive with no financial way to do anything about it.

So I finally got around to checking California’s icky Megan’s Law page. (For those of you not in the States, this is a law that passed that allowed law enforcement agencies to put the records and pictures of known child molesters on the web, so you can check who’s in your neighborhood). My social worker sister had been bugging me to do so for a long time–she seems to think there’s a lot of creeps in this world for some reason. I mean really, what are the chances I’d be living next door to one of those creepy creeps? Pretty good apparently. Lo and behold, the weird old guy directly in front of us was on the list…the one I was trying to be a little friendly with a while back in the hopes that maybe we could extend our tiny little backyard. Fortunately it’s just misdemeanor stuff. So while I’m not happy about it, I’m not totally freaking out, either.

Small world. Hey, I wonder if he needs a computer? Ugh.
