I’m pleased to say I hadn’t heard of most of those people. I think the problem with vitriolic lists like that is that it makes the person behind the list seem vicious, angry, and mean-spirited. There’s also a danger, I think, in getting things out of proportion. To mix serious political stuff with trivial celebrity stuff tends to make politics seem trivial.

Rob: over here, politics and celebrity are the same; if you lived in America they would be all too familiar. Jesse Venura, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono…I could go on and on.

Trust me: you need a sense of humor just to survive here.
