Pouring Down to Stay
Did we accidentially move to effing Seattle? It’s been almost two straight weeks of rain, and it’s still raining as I write this. I saw somewhere that we usually only get 15 or so inches a year, and we’re now over 20 inches–just this month. Oooh, it’s gonna be a fun fire season come summer. In the meantime, it’s going to make gorgeous Irish-like hills for several months, something I hope I’ll be able to take advantage of with my camera (and hopefully, maybe with a new lens or two?).
It hasn’t been easy to come up with ideas to keep everybody entertained indoors, especially since too many morons in the county didn’t vote to give the library that pathetic one-quarter-of-a-cent tax. Now the libraries are closed even more often, just in time for this monsoon. Arrrrgh.

Bruce has been very, very helpful with twin duties and has been a high-scorer in a new Orisinal game on his off-hours. It’s a little hard to figure out how it works at first, but even if you never figure it out, damn is it beautiful to look at.
“A girl HAD to design this one,” said Bruce, “Cuz nothing’s getting blown up.” That’s him above being a girl, playing a girl game.
Since I’m apparently destined to stay locked up indoors getting fat, I’ve been doing it the tasty way: Marie Callender’s Banana Cream Pie. Oh. My. God. It’s simply orgasmic. I’ve almost eaten the entire thing by myself (and if you need any more evidence that my kids are insane, they wouldn’t touch it).
P.S. Bruce has some flooding pics of his own right here.
