It’s really sad to think that one, or maybe both, of the kids in these pictures might be dead. I can see the grey-blue ocean out the window as I write this. Seeing that blue expanse is really the most peaceful part of my days, but it’s humbling to think of the ocean’s real power. I was actually researching tsunamis several weeks ago for no particular reason; I found no events on record like what just happened.

Ways to help are not hard to find. Google has set up a page, as well as Amazon.

Sara just came back from Thailand a couple of weeks before all of this, and I imagine she is incredibly stunned.

So now we can add tsunamis to the existing list of ocean-related fears (sharks, drowning, jellyfish, SHARKS). Goodie.
