Secret Flake 2004

Secret Santa 2004 has begun!

I’m still on the fence about whether I should sign up. Last year my Secret Santa was a very well-known, but apparently incredibly flaky blogger. The dude just begs for crap and gets whatever he wants–the latest being an ipod from chumps sending him $10 apiece–so why bother signing up for the Secret Santa thing? Maybe I’m just naive; maybe people just sign up for it with no intention of playing nice. This month has made me even more cynical than usual.

We went to an estate sale over in the AG village area today to kill some time and get us out of daddy’s hair. I should know better than to attempt going to those things. Estate sales are NOT really like garage sales–everything is priced double or triple what you would see at a garage sale, and a lot of times it’s the same junk. I guess I was lured by the mention of a computer, which obviously went buh-bye looooong before I could get there with my troop. I brought the skinniest, least intrusive stroller I have: a little double-wide umbrella stroller. The girls behaved like perfect angels despite the fact they are teething those damned molars again, and I scooted them over in the aisles as far as possible. People still acted like I parked an elephant directly in front of them and prevented them from accessing the one piece of junk that would make their life complete. Grrrr. So I left after a few minutes. The ONLY movie I saw in my entire childhood was the one item that interested me, but it was VHS and for $6 I wasn’t convinced the tape would last. Or maybe it just reminded me I’m getting old.

Ya did check out the other bunny cartoons, right? Truly hilarious, and there’s cute holiday stuff too (I am sorely tempted by this card).

I’ve always wanted to go to an estate sale, and there are many in this area. Now though I’m a bit apprehensive. We’ve been looking for an antique chaise, but I suppose I’ll just head to Pier 1 and see what they have in the way of a small love seat. ;)

LOL on the bunny cartoons. Angry alien cracks me up. ;D
